SummerStage 2008
Event Location: Tulsa Performing Arts Center.
SummerStage Festival is a 8-week performing arts festival held during June, July and August at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center.Performances include a variety of disciplines from musicals, drama, comedy, dance and cabaret theatre events. SummerStage Festival provides local arts groups the opportunity to work together in forming a showcase of artists from Tulsa and the surrounding communities.    THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE
June 13, 14, 26, July 5 at 8 pm - June 22 at 2:30 - July 12 at 2pm
John H. Williams Theatre Light Opera Oklahoma Gilbert & Sullivan’s most famous operetta about a group of softhearted pirates who give up their captives when the victims spout they are orphans. LOOK’s 2008 production will be updated to modern time, ala Pirates of Finance.

Leave your hat with the coat check gal and step into The Midnight Social Club, the swingingest place to be in Kansas City in 1934. Those sassy, saucy sirens of song Stella Moon, Garnett McGee, Little Ruby and club owner Violet Redd will entice you with haunting ballads and finger-snappin' tunes that will help you forget your troubles, even if they can't forget their own.
"Backstage at the Midnight Social Club" is filled with humor, poignancy and killer musical performances by local divas Cindy Cain, Pam Van Dyke Crosby, Annie Ellicott and Rebecca Ungerman, backed by the Frank Brown Band. Adult language, humor and attitude.
   LAUGHING MATTER IMPROV

Laughing Matter Improv shows are interactive theatre with audience participation. Heller Theatre was the first theatre to develop improvisational shows for Tulsa audiences. Julie Tattershall is the creator of Laughing Matter Improv, which started in 1989. If you like “Whose Line is it Anyway” and “Second City," you’ll love Tulsa’s version.
