Plot Summary: After a near-fatal accident in a stolen car, 19 year-old Jonathan Breech (Murphy) is given two choices - prison or a
psychiatric hospital. He begrudgingly accepts the latter, though he makes it clear to his doctor (Rea) that he doesn't believe in therapy. He begins the road to realization when he befriends a
fellow patient, Toby (Jackson), a sensitive, tormented young man who blames himself for his brother's accidental death. Jonathan slowly falls for the suicidal Rachel (Vessey) who constantly tests
him, unable to believe that anyone could really love her. Through his growing affection for Rachel and his friendship with Toby, Jonathan learns to accept his feelings and embrace life.
