History Torn Down for Progress You will notice something is missing as you drive I-44 today. The building that housed Jamil's for years is torn down to make room for a wider highway. The famous and not-so-famous dined at Jamil's, from Mickey Mantle and Leon Russell to Zsa Zsa Gabor and Jayne Mansfield. It is billed as Tulsa's oldest steak house. The restaurant had already moved to a location near 51st and Harvard. On Thursday, crews took down the old building. Click Here for More Local News
