Thunder Drop Oilers 4-2
Oilers Suffer Another Holiday Loss to Wichita
December 31, 2002
by Janna Kinder  TulsaHockey.net

The Wichita Thunder put the hurt on an already hurting Tulsa Oilers squad Tuesday night at the Kansas Coliseum, defeating the Oilers 4-2.

Goal scorers for Wichita included Tom Gomes, who tallied a shorthanded score early in the first period, Peter MacKellar, Aaron Plumb, and Jeff Petruic.

Players notching goals for Tulsa were Aaron Millar and Mike Mohr.

Tulsa's lead in the Northwest Division is significantly closing, as the second place Oklahoma City Blazers pulled to within six points, earning a point in a shootout loss to the Odessa Jackalopes Tuesday night.

The Oilers are currently mired in their worst stretch of hockey for the season. For the month of December, Tulsa went 4-7-2.

Tulsa's next game is Thursday versus the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. at the Tulsa Convention Center.

In other Oiler related news, Dallas Anderson was handed a 4 game suspension by the Central Hockey League for his actions in last Saturday night's game versus the Memphis RiverKings, in which Tulsa fell 7-1 to the defending CHL champions.
