Oilers Make Trade At Deadline
Tulsa Oilers Press Release
February 3, 2003

The Tulsa Oilers of the Central Hockey League have traded rookie defenseman Kevin Livingston to the Wichita Thunder for defenseman Andrew Oke and forward Peter MacKellar, head coach Garry Unger announced this afternoon.

MacKellar has played in 43 games for the Thunder this season, where he ranked fifth on the team with 32 points on 18 goals and 14 assists and 25 penalty minutes. Oke has played in 42 games this season, the first 19 of which were with the Laredo Bucks. He has totaled eight points on one goal and seven assists and 91 penalty minutes.

"There's been a lot of trade talk for about three weeks involving a number of players," said Unger. "From what I had been previously offered, I didn't feel like we were going to make a trade. Then, as the deadline approached, Wichita called and made me an offer I couldn't refuse."

Livingston played in 44 games for Tulsa where he tallied nine points on one goal and eight assists. He also totaled 68 penalty minutes and a plus/minus rating of –3.

"This move will give Kevin a chance to get some more ice time that he wasn't receiving here because of our veteran defense that we have," said Unger. "It also gives me another forward in the lineup, which was something that I was looking for."

The Oilers will return to action this weekend when they host the Fort Worth Brahmas on Friday night at 7:05. Forward Dallas Anderson has been suspended by the CHL Office for Friday's contest. Anderson was assessed his third misconduct for instigation in Saturday's game in Wichita, which is an automatic one-game suspension.

Tickets for Friday's game are available at local Drug Marts, the Tulsa Convention Center Box Office, the Oilers office, or by phone at 584-2000.
