Oilers Holding Turn Back the Clock Weekend
Tulsa Oilers Press Release January 22, 2003
The Tulsa Oilers of the Central Hockey League will be hosting their annual "Turn Back the Clock" weekend this weekend when they host the Amarillo Gorillas on
Friday night and the Wichita Thunder on Saturday night.
To commemorate the weekend, the Oilers will be wearing jerseys from the early 1960's both nights that will be auctioned off following Saturday
night's game. Fine Host Corporation will also be joining in the festivities, as on Saturday night, prices on all concessions, with the exception of beer and Dippin' Dots, will be drastically reduced by as
much as 50%. On Friday night when Tulsa hosts the Thunder, the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive an Oilers team poster courtesy of the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office.
The Oilers reached the
All-Star break with a record of 24-12-5, and their 53 points puts them in second place in the Northwest Division standings, one point behind the Oklahoma City Blazers. Five Oilers will be participating in
the Dodge 2003 CHL All-Star Game tomorrow night at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City. Head coach Garry Unger, forward Todd Marcellus, goalie Rod Branch, forward Jamie Steer, and defenseman Mike Mohr will
represent the Northern Conference. Marcellus and Branch were named starters while Steer and Mohr were added to the roster as reserves.
Tickets for this Friday's game against the Gorillas and
Saturday's game against the Thunder are available at local Drug Marts, the Tulsa Convention Center Box Office, the Oilers office, or by phone at 584-2000. The puck drops at 7:35 each night at the Tulsa
Convention Center. |
