Harper Joins Oilers
Johnston Put On Season-Ending Injured Reserve
Tulsa Oilers Press Release
January 30, 2003

The Tulsa Oilers of the Central Hockey League have added veteran defenseman Regan Harper to their active roster, head coach Garry Unger has announced. Harper will be in the Oilers lineup tomorrow night when they travel to San Angelo, Texas for their first game of the season with the Saints.

Harper has played 329 career games with the Oklahoma City Blazers, the New Mexico Scorpions, the Corpus Christ Ice Rays and the Tupelo T-Rex. The 6-2, 200-pound defenseman has totaled 193 points on 40 goals and 153 assists and has tallied 273 penalty minutes in his career.

To make room on their roster for Harper, the Oilers have placed forward Chris Johnston on season-ending injured reserve. Johnston is suffering from a hernia and is scheduled to have surgery to repair it. Johnston played in 36 games this season, recording 22 points on seven goals and 15 assists.

The Oilers will be in San Angelo tomorrow night at 7:05 for a game against the Saints. They will then travel to Wichita on Saturday night for a contest with the Thunder.
