Two More Oilers Tabbed As All-Stars
Tulsa Oilers Press Release
January 8, 2003

The Central Hockey League office has announced the remaining players in the CHL Dodge 2003 All-Star game to be held at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City on January 23rd.

Oilers forward Jamie Steer and defenseman Mike Mohr were among the reserves selected for the Northern Conference and brings the total number of Oilers playing in the game to a league-high four. Unger and the players will not be the only people from Tulsa representing the Oilers in the game. Oilers equipment manager Steve Enlow will also make the trip down the Turner Turnpike and will handle the equipment duties for the Northern Conference.

Forward Todd Marcellus and goalie Rod Branch were announced as Northern Conference starters last week and Oilers coach Garry Unger was named the coach of the northern squad on December 17th. The Northern Conference reserves were selected by Unger and CHL Hockey Operations Department. Marcellus, along with Don Parsons from the Memphis RiverKings, have been chosen to serve as Alternate Captains and Joe Burton will serve as Captain for the Northern Conference team.

Steer's 40 points on 17 goals and 23 assists rank him second on the team behind Marcellus' 50 (22-28-50) and are the ninth-most in the league. Mohr has totaled 16 points on seven goals and nine assists, and his plus/minus rating of +13 is tied for second-best among CHL defensemen.

The Oilers will be back in action on Friday night in Oklahoma City as they look to snap a season-high six-game losing streak against the Blazers. The game will be televised live in the Tulsa area by Cox Cable Channel 3 and begins at 7:35 p.m.
